When a person thinks of the term solar garden lights, some people instantly think about vegetable gardens.  This isn’t really what solar garden lighting is designed for.  Although I guess there’s no reason why you couldn’t install this type of lighting in a vegetable garden.  It’s just that this type of solar light fixture is really designed more for a yard garden that contains flowers and shrubs and trees and pathways and benches.  We’re talking about a a sitting garden here.  One that’s meant to just simply sit in and relax and enjoy  the different types of plants and flowers.

Solar garden lights might be used to line a pathway so that you can safely walk along it at night.  This type of lighting might be similar to driveway markers.  Outdoor garden lights don’t need to put out very much light at all.  All they need to do is put out enough light to be visible.  When you space them out every two feet or so and line the walking path in your garden, it becomes very easy to safely walk along that path that night.

Another type of solar garden light is accent lighting.  Perhaps you have a particular plant that you’re especially proud of.  It might look very beautiful with some small solar spotlights illuminating it at night.  You can get quite creative with these types of outdoor garden lights.  One thing that often works very well is to mount the small solar spotlight on the ground in front of the plant that you are trying to illuminate.  Then aim the solar garden light up and at an angle towards the plant.

Many people have small fish ponds in their garden.  Solar garden lights can really be used quite effectively to accentuate the beauty of the pond.  Perhaps you have a small waterfall that trickles into the pond.  It can be quite beautiful to have this waterfall lit up at night.  A strategically aimed solar garden light can do just that.

It’s quite common to have sitting areas in a garden.  Some people have outdoor patio furniture strategically placed in their garden.  This is another great place for solar garden lighting.  In this case, it’s a good idea to not locate the lights too close to the furniture.  This may draw unwanted bugs that may disturb the person who is trying to enjoy the garden.

One important thing to keep in mind when installing this type of lighting is to make sure that the solar panel of the light fixture is in an area that receives enough light during the day so that the fixture can be fully charged.

If you think creatively, there are a many ways you can use solar garden lights to accentuate your garden.  A garden can look and feel quite differently at night.  This type of lighting can transform your garden into what feels like and entirely new space if used correctly.
